Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year

Dear McGlinnen Families,

It is my honor to welcome you to McGlinnen for the 2024-2025 school year! I hope you have had a great summer break. We have been busy getting the school ready and are looking forward to having a full and bustling school with many opportunities for learning, growth, and making new friends.

All students who attended Rainbow last year were automatically enrolled at McGlinnen for your convenience. These families do not need to do anything to attend McGlinnen. If you are interested in bus transportation, and have not filled out the transportation request form, please do so at this link. Transportation will be making contact with families before school starts with bus stop information. The current Clintondale bus routes are available on our website.

If you are interested in Latchkey, please either stop at the McGlinnen Main Office weekdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., or give us a call at (586) 791-3400, and we can email you the forms.

The first day of school is Tuesday, Sept. 3, and is a regular full day of school starting at 8:15 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Each morning McGlinnen students line up outside their hallway exterior doors no earlier than 8:07 a.m. Fourth and fifth grade students line up at the Main Entrance. There is no lining up inside the building. Students are released from those same doors at 3 p.m. Please be patient and courteous in our parking lot at arrival and dismissal so that everyone is safe and protected. We are a full school and will have several buses, vehicles, people, and children on the grounds. Please follow all traffic rules in addition to our school campus rules:

  • The Sunnyview driveway is an ENTRANCE ONLY.
  • The Woodingham driveway is an EXIT ONLY.
  • No family parking along the fences of the exit driveway - this is for Bus and Staff Parking only.
  • Families who need to help their children out of the car must park in the large main parking lot in front of the school.
  • The lane closest to the building from the entrance driveway is drop-off only and should move quickly - no standing or parking, stopping only.

Some important information and upcoming events:

  • Class lists will be posted in the windows of the entrances on Wednesday, Aug. 28, after 3 p.m.
  • The school supply list is posted on the website.
  • We hope to see you at our McGlinnen Welcome Back Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Please check your email for more information!
  • First Day of School - Tuesday, Sept. 3, Full Day of School 8:15 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Meet the Teacher Night, Thursday, Sept. 5, 6 - 7:30 p.m.

Sincerely,

Dr. Shauna Hemler
